Synergy Climate Action Partner Program

Many organizations are taking genuine steps to address their climate impact, but without a clear framework, it can be hard to know if you’re on the right track or how to talk about your progress with confidence. The Synergy Climate Action Partner Program is designed to change that. It’s a practical, structured framework that helps your organization measure, plan, and act on your sustainability commitments in a way that is transparent, credible, and meaningful. As a partner, you’ll have Synergy’s team alongside you every step of the way, helping you build a climate action story that is honest, well-documented, and something your team can be proud to share.

Minimum Requirements

To join the program, your organization must:

Commit to Continuous Improvement

Make a public statement defining your company’s commitment to climate action.

Measure GHG Emissions Annually

Track and publicly report your carbon footprint (scope 1, 2 and 3) to ensure transparency and accountability.

Identify and Implement Decarbonization Opportunities

Develop and begin implementing strategies to reduce your emissions.
Take ongoing, measurable steps to enhance your climate impact over time.

Synergy Climate Action Framework

A five-phase framework supports your path to net-zero emissions. While each company’s path is unique, the phases are designed to be pursued in parallel, reinforcing one another and accelerating progress over time. As a Synergy Climate Action Partner, your efforts towards each phase will be documented along the way:

Commit

Set your ambition. Make a public statement, signed by a company executive, defining your company’s commitment to climate action.

Measure

Measure and publicly disclose your greenhouse gas emissions each year, including Scope 1, 2, and all material (>5% of total footprint) Scope 3 emissions*.

Synergy will publish your GHG inventory results on the public Climate Action Partner webpage for transparency and accountability. Each webpage displays emissions by scope, sources of emissions, and historical data (where applicable).

*Note: New partners may not be able to measure all Scope 3 emissions in their first year. A reasonable effort is required. All Climate Action Partners must complete a full Scope 3 assessment by the end of year three.

Plan

Create a decarbonization plan with clear milestones that reflect your ambition and timeline.

Implement

Take action by putting your strategy into motion.

List completed or in-progress emissions reduction initiatives.
If carbon offsets are purchased, provide transparent details about the projects you are supporting.

Lead & Influence

Go above and beyond by demonstrating sector leadership:

Launch First Mover Projects: Showcase innovative technologies or practices and share results as case studies.
Community-Based Impact: Contribute to high-impact projects that extend your influence beyond your operations.
