  • Scope 3 Categories: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9
  • In FY 2024, Graphic Office’s scope was expanded to include further categories, which include purchased goods & services, capital goods, fuel & energy activities, and downstream shipping. Scope 3 categories 1, 2, and 3 have been retroactively calculated and included in each previous inventory to enable year-over-year comparisons.
  • Note: All Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions measurements are aligned with the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1 best practices.

Plan

  • Key focuses for decarbonization efforts include energy efficiency and fleet electrification, as well as renewable energy (solar adoption).
  • Graphic Office has committed to an emissions reduction target of 30% by 2030 based on 2024 levels.

Implement

  • Graphic office has implemented the following carbon reduction initiatives:
  • Purchased heat pumps to transition off renewable natural gas. Heating and cooling is now handled by the latest generation of energy-efficient heat pumps.
  • Purchased one electric vehicle in 2024 and previously purchased three hybrid and two fully electric vehicles
  • Recycles all cardboards, waste woods, pallets, and metals
  • Takes ownership of end-user waste by removing it from customer sites to be disposed of properly at the Graphic Office location
  • Implemented no no-idle policy for company vehicles
  • Provide EV chargers on-site
  • All trucks are fuelled at the office, reducing travel time to and from fuelling locations.
  • Better utilization of vertical space increased storage capacity while reducing overall footprint from 35,000 square feet to 32,000 square feet.
  • Insulation and energy usage follow the latest ASHRAE standards.
  • Lighting in the office and showroom area is 100% LED lamping.
  • Lighting in the warehouse is motion-controlled so low-usage areas are often off, which translates to 40% of the space
  • Carbon Offsets Purchased: Graphic Office has invested in the following project that supports the conservation of old-growth forests.
  • The Great Bear Forest Carbon Project
  • Location:  British Columbia, Canada
  • Project type: Reduction and avoidance
  • Verification Standard: BC Forest Carbon Offset Protocol (FCOP)
  • This project protects millions of hectares of old-growth rainforest, reduces carbon emissions, and supports Indigenous-led stewardship. Proceeds from carbon credits fund conservation and community development in local First Nations.
  • Great Bear Rainforest Project: 307 tonnes in 2025
